Brighten Someone's Day Campaign

we lift the spirits of those in need of cheer
We are a 100% non profit initiative that is run by a crew of volunteers. At Brighten Someone's Day, our mission is to lift the spirits of those in need of cheer by sending them love, hope, and joy through letters, legacy videos, craft packages, device donations, and more.

Since our launch in 2017, the Brighten Someone's Day Campaign team, lead by Tara and Katharine (Kate) Druzina, have been working hard to bring smiles to those residents living in retirement homes and long term care facilities. There is always more that can be done.
See how you can become part of the difference.
our initiatives

"You must be the change you want to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi
When it comes to making a positive change, the Brighten Someone's Day Campaign provides a variety of programs to cheer up those seniors living in retirement homes, long term care facilities and alone at home.

writing program
Making uplifting cards and writing cheerful letters to spread smiles.
Imagine going days or weeks without hearing from another person. One in four older adults experiences social isolation.
We change that!
Our volunteers make uplifting cards and write cheerful letters to brighten their day.
Meaningful connections are made that help stop loneliness.

craft kits
Craft ideas for seniors
Crafting is an activity enjoyed by the young, the old, and everyone in between. When you create, your whole self is showing up for the moment.
We help seniors stay creatively engaged in life!
Because of the generous support of our donors we are able to create bulk craft kits that are used by Recreational Directors in retirement homes and long term care facilities to help seniors stay healthy physically, emotionally and spiritually.

legacy videos
Creating a legacy for residents of retirement homes and long term care homes through oral history.
Our volunteers conduct a series of recorded interviews from an abundance of predetermined questions. The interviews are edited by a volunteer team of professionals. When spliced together they create a 30-60 minute life story.

We cannot keep up with the demand and need you to be our next video biographger!
